The DOM and the browser
The tree the browser displays.
A document, a tree
The DOM is the in-memory representation of an HTML document. Elements such as main, button and canvas form a tree. JavaScript can change that tree; the browser then updates what you see. CSS describes its presentation, layout and adaptation to different screens.
A direct change
With an element whose id is "generation", this instruction changes its text. The check avoids an error if the element is absent. Inside a React component, prefer updating state; React then manages the elements it owns.
const output = document.querySelector('#generation');
if (output) output.textContent = '42';What about WebFront?
You can manage the DOM from your JavaScript interface. A general C++ document and node API remains future work; distinguish this from the bridge contracts already available.
